What’s up with the Kings? | June 2020 family update

July is nearly over so I figure I better get my June 2020 family update done so I don’t get behind!  For the first time in a long time I don’t have a huge photo dump for this month (lots of pictures, for sure, just not as many as I have been taking).  I guess month after month of the same ol’ being home all day every day doing the same things gets a little repetitive.

Originally June was supposed to be 3 back-to-back weeks of fun – church camp, the Young Living’s convention in Utah, then our CC practicum.  Thanks to corona (no thanks to corona, actually…) all of those things were sadly cancelled.

So here’s what this month looked like instead!

Lots of bike riding

Everly loves to go for a ride!
Hudson and I had a chiropractor appointments.  Because of covid we had to wait in the car and they called us when it was time to go in.  Hudson fell asleep while we were waiting.
Super grumpy after being woke up from his car nap
Everly’s favorite thing to do outside is play in a bucket of water!
Naptime!
Working on our handwriting
Hudson plopped down in the stroller – how has he gotten so big?!  It seems like yesterday he was Everly’s size!
Mmmmm sourdough biscuits!  We are all in love with them!   (this is the recipe I use)
Ready for church!  We started off the month still having church online.
I put Everly’s hair in these little buns and I couldn’t get over how cute it was!!
I don’t remember what exactly I did but the note says “You ruined my day Mommy” {mad faces} NO.  By Hudson, To Mommy (and I guess my name is written in an angry font?)

Bless.
Wearing big brother’s boots and carrying a shield
Any time she sees someone else applying oils she wants some too!
Sourdough brownies.  They were ok but not amazing.
Hudson discovered the self timer feature on the digital camera that they like to play with so he set up poses and took pictures of himself and Everly.  SO adorable!
“You are my best friend”
Parker had a little temper tantrum and hid under the rug…
Helping put groceries away
“I’m sorry your scab peeled.  I hope your scab feels better soon” (from Hudson to Parker)
“I hope your ouchie feels better, love Hudson” (with a picture of an oil bottle)
We had a couple of trees cut down that were too close to the house and the kids had a grand time watching all the work
Officer Everly
“Mommy!  Come look at us!”
Playdough.  Such a big mess but they love it!
Stealing Ningxia packets from the pantry
Young Living switched convention to an online platform.  While it completely stunk not getting to be there in person they did a good job with the online format and it was still really fun.

The first night they had a virtual awards gala for the new diamonds.  Some of our team dressed up at home to “attend” the gala – so fun!
Formal dress, no shoes, toddler, online gala
Thursday, the biggest day of convention (aka the day new products are launched!) we had a small gathering of some of the local leaders to watch the general session together.  It was so good to see other humans!!
Then more watching from home
Stuffing welcome letters for my team while watching the morning opener
My helpers!
Saturday we had a virtual 5k.  I didn’t actually run but I wore my 5k shirt!
We FINALLY got to go back to church in person!  I forgot to get a picture Sunday morning but here are the kids from Sunday night.
Tiny peppers growing in the garden!
Sourdough starter growing and bubbling nicely
I attempted my first loaf of sourdough bread.  It was super dense – not a hit!  It made some ok grilled cheese sandwiches but otherwise not very good.
Everly made up this sign for paci where she taps her pointer fingers together.
She also has to have two pacis at all times – one in her mouth and one in her hand.   We worked with the boys on nighttime potty training this month.  I’d always thought “oh at some point they’ll just naturally start going to the bathroom themselves at night” so I hadn’t pushed it but that wasn’t happening and we were having accidents/leaking out of pull ups almost every night so we decided to start purposefully working on it (no more pull ups and we took them to the bathroom multiple times at night).  Things went well!  We let them pick some prizes when they hit certain milestones and one of Hudson’s was some Starbursts.
Everly loves to wear the boys’ shoes!
Big helpers carrying in my Young Living convention order
Flower crown that came with the Bloom skincare set, AromaRing in my nose (nose diffuser), and new necklace – all decked out in my convention goodies!
Everly tries to sign “I love you” and it’s adorable!
Riding horses on the nugget
Kiwi Crate box time!
I finished out the month by attempting my first loaf of artisan sourdough bread!  It wasn’t perfect, it was a little gummy inside, but I was super proud of my first attempt!

And that’s a wrap for our June 2020 family update!
