Another month, another update! Here’s what we were up to this month.
We made s’mores over the grill. It was a super sticky mess but everyone loved it!
For 4th of July we got a bunch of poppers (Is that what they’re called? The ones that you throw down on a hard surface and they pop) – the boys had a blast throwing them on the concrete outside.
After church that night we went and watched fireworks. There is a local church who puts on a big show so we watch those each year. Neither one of the boys was scared of the fireworks this year so that was an improvement!
Lots and lots of dress up.
Krispy Kreme offered a limited-time chocolate glazed donut so we tried them out. Michael and I were not impressed but the boys loved them (let’s be real, they love anything with sugar since they get so little of it!)
My oils team hosted our first Live Your Passion Rally here locally. It was almost like a mini-convention and super fun! We had education on new products and supplements, a men’s panel, giveaways, lots of Ningxia Red, and more!
Ningxia Red bar! That Ningxia punch was soooo yum!
We had some of the oils and products out for people to see

Parker wanted to hold Michael’s hand while he ate a snack. So precious!
My mom’s church had their week of church camp this month so I took the boys down there two days. They had so much fun playing in the creek! Parker was a little hesitant at first but halfway through the 2nd day he got comfortable enough to really walk around and play.
The boys got to use slingshots to shoot stones at Goliath
I’m pretty shocked that Hudson held a fish! He has come a long way in his timidness recently!
Don’t be fooled by this picture of Parker on the potty. He is not even close to potty training, I don’t think. There were 2, maybe 3 times this month that he asked to sit on the potty. And he did just that – sat. Never actually peed or anything, just sat there. And then that was it. Other than that he hasn’t shown interest.
Michael had a work conference in Chattanooga this month so the kids and I tagged along with him. There is so much fun stuff to do with kids in Chattanooga that the boys and I had all sorts of things to keep us busy while Michael was in his sessions.
Diffusing Thieves because hotel rooms are grody. We also discovered during this hotel experience that Parker is NOT ready for his own bed and especially not one that he shares with Hudson. We thought he and Hudson could share a bed but the first night found out that was a bad, bad idea. After 2.5 hours of trying to keep them still and not bothering each other, as well as trying to keep Parker in the bed, we finally called the front desk to get a crib sent up. It was tiny and Parker looked a bit squished in there but he went right to sleep and naps/bedtime for the rest of the week were great. One day we spent the morning at the Creative Discovery Museum. That’s one of my favorite things to do in Chattanooga! This time while we were there they had a Daniel Tiger exhibit and my boys love Daniel Tiger so they absolutely loved that!
Checking out the honey bee section
One little section is just for ages 4 and down and the boys spent a long time in there playing
We built for a while – Parker was so proud of what he built…just look at that happy face!
Hanging out at the hotel. Keeping the boys (mainly Parker) entertained in the hotel was not the most fun thing in the world. Hudson would sit and watch tv for hours and hours if I’d let him, but Parker won’t stay still and was constantly trying to get out the door, climb on everything, use the phone, and just generally be…well…himself. That’s just a lot harder to contain in a strange place like a hotel than it is at home! So anyway, we tried to get out and about as much as possible unless it was nap or bed time!
One branch of the library was pretty close to our hotel so we spent one morning there. They had all sorts of fun things for kids besides just books – the boys spent most of their time at the block table and train table.
Cool dude Parker
Michael had Lasik eye surgery this month. That was something he’d been wanting to do for a long time and so far he’s very happy with his results! Recovering from eye surgery with two active little ones at home has been…interesting. They gave him goggles to wear immediately after the surgery to protect his eyes and as you can see here the boys had to copy daddy too (Hudson has his goggles on backwards). They cracked me up wanting to be just like him!
Showing off their dino tattoos
People ask me all the time if the boys get along well and my answer is about 50-50. Half the time they play super well together and half the time they fight like crazy. I don’t even know what was happening this morning while I was washing dishes, I just know both boys were wailing about something.
See? Back to being sweet (for a few minutes until someone gets poked or squished and everyone cries again)
Some other things from this month
- Parker is talking up a storm now. The last two months he went from very little talking at all to having soooooo much to say! I can’t even keep track of what words he now knows. He still doesn’t say a lot of people’s names, although he is finally saying a handful more (like Hudson’s and his own). But in general, lots more to say now!
- The baby is measuring on track and everything is going well. We’re already in the 3rd trimester which completely blows my mind – I can’t believe how fast this has gone! Not that there is a ton to get ready for the 3rd baby, but I don’t feel prepared at all at this point. I’m definitely feeling big now – I’ve gained 24 pounds for the whole pregnancy and 12 of those have just been in the last 2 months. I have to sleep with pillows propped up around me and getting up and down off the floor is not the easiest, but overall I’m feeing good. Working out with pregnancy-specific workouts most days and eating healthy for the most part.
That’s all for this month!
