Another month, another update! Here’s our May 2018 family update!
Baby #3 update
For those who might not have seen the news on my Facebook news or Instagram account I’ll start with the answering what you’re dying to know – is baby #3 a girl or a boy?
The answer…IT’S A GIRL!
I definitely thought this was going to be another boy and Michael thought so too, so we were quite surprised at our ultrasound to find out we were having a girl!
Our ultrasound tech was so sweet – this was our 20 week anatomy scan and she said that most people have already found out (if they’re planning to find out) the gender through a blood test or one of the other ultrasound places you can visit so she rarely gets to tell people anymore what they’re having. I think she enjoyed getting to surprise us :).
When she got a clear shot and turned the screen around so we could see I thought it was a girl (I am definitely not an ultrasound guru though so I wasn’t positive) and then she confirmed my suspicions.
To answer some commonly asked questions:
- What do the boys think? Honestly, they don’t know the difference yet between girls and boys or brothers and sisters so they’re excited but aren’t more or less excited for a sister versus a brother.
- Are we excited? Oh yes. I honestly didn’t care one way or the other and wasn’t “hoping” for one over the other and would have been thrilled either way, but I will admit that I am excited to finally get to do the bows and pink and ruffles and all that.
- Does she have a name? A definite yes for a first name, we’ve had that picked out since before we were even pregnant with Hudson. Still deciding on the middle name. I’ll announce once we’re for sure and share the backstory on her name.
Other pregnancy stuff:
- I’m currently 20 weeks and feeling great, other than a noticeably preggo belly I really don’t “feel” pregnant
- I’ve almost completed the Couch to 5K program and still can’t believe that I’ve been able to do the whole program while pregnant!
- I’ve gained about 5ish pounds the whole pregnancy so far
- I am definitely feeling baby girl move quite a bit, especially at night (not sure if she’s more active at night or if I just don’t notice it as much during the day because I’m distracted by two particular boys..)
This picture is kind of exaggerated because of the way I was leaning back to get the boys and myself in the shot, but here’s about the only belly picture I have. Honestly at this point I still look “could be pregnant, could just be extra chubby” and so haven’t really done any belly pictures. Plus, baby #3 kind of just gets the short end of the stick on all the documentation and such that baby #1 got. Sorry, sweet girl!
It is CRAZY to me that we’re halfway through this pregnancy already! It has flown by!!
Ok enough about that, on to the rest of the month, which was basically pretty chill so there are a handful of pics of the boys but not a whole lot of exciting adventures.
It has been mega hot so we’ve been playing in the sprinkler. Parker can’t stand it and Hudson was wary at first but has finally gotten to where he’ll run through it and get wet.
Just about every day while we’re playing outside the boys pick me flowers (aka weeds from our yard) – sweetest thing ever!
Parker is mega independent and wants to get himself dressed all the time. I try to let him do it most of the time – even when that means we end up with backwards, twisted pants.
Watching either our yard or our neighbor’s yard get mowed. They love it when someone starts mowing!
Ready for a bike ride with daddy! Which I was extra excited about because that meant I got a solo run instead of having to push the stroller during my run!
I have no idea. I don’t even know if there was something in the oven that he was watching or what.
I made some cute labels for some of our toy bins that I was proud of.
I’ve discovered a sneaky mom trick…if I cut up a bell pepper and casually set the plate out while I’m fixing dinner the boys will come and gobble up the whole thing. Now, they won’t touch them if I serve them WITH the meal but if they’re sitting there before the meal they eat a ton. I haven’t tried this with other veggies yet but I love this sneaky little way to get some more vegetables into them.
I am such a sucker for matching clothes – jammies included. Never mind that these are Christmas jammies and it’s May! Ha!
My curly boys both sporting some crazy bed head
They fight like cats and dogs but then turn around and do super sweet stuff like this too. Love it.
My heart. They’re just adorable. This is their “waiting for me to ring the dinner bell spot” and Hudson called me over there to show me that he was “holding” Parker and tell me to take a picture.
Also this month Michael and I celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary.
Figure skater Scott Hamilton came and spoke at an event our local library put on. I totally fan girl’d and went, bought a book, and stood in a super long line to get it autographed. He was such a nice guy and I loved hearing him speak.
We had our bi-annual local Oily Bash, which is basically a huge oily open house for people to come try out a ton of Young Living products. It’s always really fun!
I worked the baby/kid table this time – one of my favorite oily topics!
We also hit a big milestone – the 1,000th person joined our team this month! It is crazy to me to think that four years ago I was just dabbling in essential oils, telling a few friends about them, and not at all “doing the business” but that has blossomed into this amazing, wonderful team of people that are now using and loving oils themselves! It’s hard to even call it a job because it doesn’t feel like work but man…what a fun job I have!
That’s a wrap for this month!
